Mr. James Dretske

 Staff Minister



     Mr. Dretske was born in Waukegan, Illinois.  He currently holds a state teaching license from the state of Nebraska.  He has taken graduate courses at Concordia College, Seward, NE and Martin Luther College here in New Ulm in the area of education. He began his ministry at Trinity Lutheran in Hoskins, Nebraska, in 1990.  He then taught at St. Paul's in Saginaw, MI from 1995-1998. 


     He was called by St. John's Lutheran Church in New Ulm to be on staff at St. Paul's school and started here in 1998.  Not only does he serve as the administrative teacher for St. John's Church and the St. John's teachers on staff at St. Paul's school, but he also is in charge of the school yearbook and directs the St. John's Jr. Choir. 


     In his spare time he enjoys computers, photography, and editing digital video.  He and his wife Cindy have been blessed with two children.
