
Michael Tracy, originally from Jefferson, WI. Mike is a 1985 graduate of Lakeside Luther High School in Lake Mills, WI.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and received training in two career fields; Aerospace Warning & Control Systems Operations and Information Systems Operations. While on active-duty, Mike served in Florida, South Korea, Texas, California, Wisconsin, and Germany, along with temporary duty assignments to Honduras and Saudi Arabia.
In 2009, after almost 24 years of full-time active duty, Mike began a second career managing operations at the United States Air Forces in Europe, Medical Systems Help Desk in Germany, and the Defense Health Agency Medical Systems Help Desk in San Antonio, Texas. Mike has earned his college degree in Information Systems, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional Certification (CISSP), and multiple IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Information Systems Service Management certifications before pursuing full-time ministry studies at Martin Luther College.
Mike brings along with him Diane (nee Solofra), and they have been married for 33 years and have four children, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Heather, and Abigail, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and seven grandchildren. Diane currently works at MLC as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Staff Ministry and Congregational Assistant programs. She has held positions in local congregation women's groups, local and circuit LWMS boards, and has worked on WELS Kingdom Workers projects in Malawi, Africa. Mike has served on the WELS Military Services Committee since 2008 and has held various church council and board positions in WELS congregations. He will graduate in May 2021 with certifications in both the Staff Ministry and the Chaplaincy programs.
